Readying Up for Super Bowl Sunday

We are going to have a full house on Super Bowl Sunday. The Mister didn’t keep me updated on everyone he had invited. He only told me that 4 people were coming, so I invited two more people. And then he tells me who else was coming over after I told him who I invited. What sucks is that our sectional couch is not big enough to accommodate everyone. It can only seat at least 5 people, and maybe one more. We have 4 countertop stools around our island and we have 4 seats at the dining table (plus 2 more that I put away in our storage closet), but I’m not sure if it will be comfortable enough to sit on for a long time. So, I plan on buying at least 3 beanie bags to keep some of our guests comfy. I don’t mind sitting on the floor. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for me.

First thing I have to do tomorrow is take the girls to their first swimming lesson. Or maybe I should have the Mister do that for me? Then after that, I need to go to the oriental market. Then to Target to buy a deep fryer, which I should have done today but forgot, and a few beanie bags. (I saw some on sale when the girls and I went there today after school.) Then around the afternoon, Desi has a birthday party to go to. It’s actually a birthday sleepover party. The birthday girls’ mom has planned to take them skating, then to the movies, and I think Desi said they will also go get some cupcakes and donuts. It’s going to be 4 or 5 of them total. Desi isn’t going to be sleeping over, though. So we’ll pick her up later in the evening when she is ready to come home.

In the meantime, I will be slaving away in the kitchen, prepping food for Sunday’s event, while also making dinner. I plan on making Korean Chicken, Lumpia Shanghai, Macaroni Salad, and Turon (Banana Lumpia) for our Super Bowl party. I am still deciding if I should make mini cheesecakes as well. Maybe I shouldn’t. The Mister will be making his favorite Jalapeno poppers. One of his friends is bringing chicken wings. So there will be enough food for everyone.

I can’t wait for Sunday to get here. We’re going to have good company, good food, and a good game, which will make watching the game fun. I already know the fellas are going to get loud, most especially my guy. If the Broncos win (which I really hope they do), I already know the Mister will go cray cray. I can picture him running down the street, ripping off his shirt, and just yelling. Haha. Okay, maybe that’s a bit extreme. But I can see him doing that. As for me, I think I’ll stick to my happy dance, which is a mix of the Running Man and Jack Rabbit. Lol. Go Broncos!

  1. All the food sounds amazing! I absolutely love jalepeño poppers too! I’m making a team themed spread with food from both areas. It’s one of the things I look forward to when it comes to the SuperBowl!

You are def gonna have a full house. lol. Our team didn’t make it (boo), but we are rooting for the Broncos. Peyton truly deserves a ring. I like the Seahawks too but just really leaning towards Denver! Hope they win!

  2. @ Steph. I think that’s a good and yummy idea to cook food representing the team. I might have to try that next Super Bowl. It would definitely be different.

I knew a lot of people who were rooting for the Broncos as well as the Seahawks. At our Super Bowl party, we had our rivalries rooting for the Seahawks. I just wish the game was exciting and not so boring, coz then it would have been fun to go back and forth. Oh well.
